Timber Frame Scarf Joint Bench

Using recycled timbers from a railway trestle I have built this bench during the Timber Framing Program at the College of the Rockies in Kimberley. Here’s the sketch up model which you can download and see here.

Awesome scarf joint. Where did you learn to do this kind of work? It looks like a japanese style too me, but whatever it is, your skill is worth some big money here. Thank you for showing it!
